developer.viagogo.net's Issues

Registering applications to use Viagogo APIs

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I couldn't find another way to contact you guys.

I wanted to play around with the Viagogo API v2, and I read this part:

"All developers need to register their application before getting started. Registered applications are assigned a unique Client ID and Client Secret that are required for authentication."

The "register their application" redirects to developer.viagogo.net, and I cannot find the place where I can register my application in order to get cliend_id and client secret. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Prices through the api don't seem to match real prices on site

Hey there,

We're building an aggregation platform for concert / event tickets called TicketScout (https://ticketscout.nl).

We've integrated you're api, but are having some issues with prices. A lot of the times, the prices we get through the api, don't seem to match the prices on the viagogo site. I attached some screen shots and a json (in text).

As you can see the estimated_price gives 35 euro, while the viagogo site gives 30.84 euro.

If it's any help at all: I've noticed that in a lot of these cases, it looks like if you take the price you give in the api, but replace EUR with USD, the converted amount seems to match very close to the price on site (in this example: $35 = +/- 30.84 euro.

Any help / insights would be very appreciated.

kind regards,
Lennard Kooy

Note: the ticketscout site is still in early beta

Add platform specific getting started instructions

On Windows I had some trouble grabbing the latest bits and getting them to work from a vanilla machine (no Ruby bits installed). I tried using Ruby 2.2.3 and couldn't get past an issue installing some native gems (at bundle install). I also had some issues getting the middleman server to stay up once I'd got things working in 1.9.3.

In the end I had to:

  • Install Ruby 1.9.3
  • Install the appropriate Ruby devkit
  • Start the server with the --force-polling flag

Was this just me or is this something that any clean build needs? Maybe just a link to some other Ruby setup docs.

Submission form to get an authentication token

I saw that @akilb made the commit containing link to a Google Form to submit a request to get access as a developer to the API. I honestly can't find another way to obtain key/secret to query the API.

Problem is, that document a) doesn't include a field to leave my contacts: how do I receive a reply? And b) that looks like a form not addressed to developers willing to fiddle with the API. Looks more like an structured affiliation program; I just want to query the API to obtain data about availability and prices for my own interest, I won't resell tickets nor publish anything to the web.

Is there something I'm missing? Is there another place where I can get these infos?

Kind regards,
Matteo
