Broken with latest release - mdc v0.37.0

Hey there,
Seems I am in the same position that prompted you to create this. Using mdc-web, looking for a compatible autocomplete. This is just a heads-up that it seems the latest version of mdc has broken your custom component -- you codepen is no longer working. I see you are targeting the latest release in your pen:

So I cannot say when it broke. I may take a crack at fixing whatever broke, any pointers/ideas as to what may have broke?

Issue with MDCAutoComplete.attachTo

Initiating with var ac = MDCAutoComplete.attachTo(document.querySelector('.mdc-autocomplete')) cause an issue where the element beleives that the input and span elements are undefined. As a result no autocompletion occurs.

Until I can figure out why, I recomend the usage of var ac = new MDCAutoComplete(document.querySelector('.mdc-autocomplete')) instead...
