A python mini project to fetch rating for movies using web scraping.
I am a Software Engineer at Microsoft. As a part of Azure core, the Azure Automation service runs 3B+ jobs (customer code) yearly in 55+ regions spread across the globe. I am a part of the engineering team that ensures these jobs run smoothly and securely, while also working on what the next generation of automation looks like.
I am opening this issue because IMDB's https://www.imdb.com/search/title/ search doesn't return every movie. For example, when searching for the movie 'Andaaz Apna Apna' from /search/title, no movie is returned. But when you search for it from /find, the correct movie is listed. If possible, I would like to work on this.
When we Google Search a movie, we get the platforms on which it is available. The results can be scraped and shown to the user.
Make a GUI for this script using PySimpleGUI or anything of your choice, update the readme accordingly.

Store only those films in the .csv file whose genre matches with the genre user enters in the input, take input from user along with the input directory path (which is already taken).
I will add PySimpleGUI==4.29.0 to requirements.txt.
I think this would be a better approach because making a separate folder just to scrape movies is just unecessary trouble. Insteasd, the user could make a file containing the movies he wants to get information of.
If the film name is star_wars_episode_one.mp4 the url ending generated should be star+wars+episode+one, right now this works for spaces only. (Eg. Star Wars works but star_wars doesn't)
Sort the films according to the ratings, the maximum rated film should be at the top and then store it in the .csv file.
