This would make sure that this alien is usable by XS modules too. Right now there is only an FFI test. Test::Alien xs_ok should be used.

Missing uuid_type in "system" libuuid causes fail in UUID::FFI, so should probably add a check for that symbol:

unable to find uuid_type at /Users/****/.cpanm/work/1620235617.61869/UUID-FFI-0.08/blib/lib/UUID/FFI.pm line 35.

A lot of code uses #include <uuid/uuid.h> so include should NOT be removed. The best way is probably to patch the .pc file in the patch phase, so that both pkg-config and Perl consumers benefit from the change. #5 should be done in parallel or first to ensure workishness.
