There is no 'notifies' property:

selectedValues: {
            notifies: true
          },

Replace with notify: true

I have a single selection esmm and the option text is not truncated. Check my screenshot:

The paper-item (option data container) needs additional CSS to work in this case. Here is a possible soultion:

Using dynamicAlign property the dropdown is not positioned properly.

The 'value' property of dropdown options must support strings too. Now it works only for integer values.

Fire a custom event when the user select/deselect options. The event could contain the selected values. This will be useful in parent element to catch value change event for this element, instead of using observers(using observers in parent element forces you to use not need properties)

Steps to reproduce in demo page:
Issue 1:

• Search for Option 10, select it, close dropdown
• Open dropdown, try to remove search text ... the dropdown will close the moment you hit backpace key

Issue 2:

• Complete Issue 1 steps
• Change your search text from 'Option 10' to 'Option' ... you will see only the first 2 options, the third option and the bottom info("More than 3 items ...") not is not showing

starred attribute no longer required, we need to remove it.

With multiselection on, if you remove a selected option using 'x' button, the dropdown is opened.

If the dropdown is opened and the page is scrolled, since the position is fixed, the dropdown will not stay near the dropdown selected values field.

If no options are selected we should show a placeholder in the selected options field. Not it looks like in the first screenshot, but we have to display it like in the second screenshot.
