What other hobbies or activities do you love that aren't tech related?
A while back I saw a tweet from you about svg icon systems. Curious if you've dug into that topic anymore and what approach you're looking at. Inline, local svg use vs external svg use, background img, etc.
Thanks!
If you're anything like me, I'm sure you've had that one proposal you were super pscyhed about that you had a good feeling about that got rejected :)
I frequent your blog and one thing I love is the emojis in the URL. Reminded me of Glen Chiacchieri's URL animations some how. :p
Screenshot please. It tells a lot about a person.
I see that you keep your blog updated and it is actually very interesting. I tried to do it several times (more as a personal notes blog) but I ended up editing it and trying the new thing instead of actually writing.
Any advice on how to avoid the blank post syndrome?
Congrats!

I've been getting a lot of questions about my hair lately (specifically the colors in it). Here is a thread with answers instead of answering each individually:
Current: January 2015 -- 4 months after putting the color in (keep in mind there are Instagram filters applied). The under-side is still super vibrant, though the top is fading out, but turning a brighter blue which is fun ๐
This happened in 4 weeks when I didn't know how to take care of it:
[link to instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/87UbbryTtI/?taken-by=unakravets) ## FAQs from Twitter ### How did you achieve this, professional or DIY? [1](https://twitter.com/quovixi/status/685465338264317953) [2](https://twitter.com/jenisora/status/685370263307862016)Dyed my hair initially in Berlin, where it was bleached. Didn't know how to take care of it because I don't speak German and the hairdresser didn't speak english so it faded super quickly to green in 4 weeks. Got just the dye touched back up in Austin!
It's a pigment color (I don't know which one) -- it will fade, but can fade much more slowly if you take good care of it. It's also more vibrant a few weeks in than when initially dyed because the color lightens up a bit.
The day I re-dyed it (see how dark it is initially? That's a good thing)
December 2015 -- 3 months after putting the color in (keep in mind there are Instagram filters applied)
Honestly, it's pretty subtle in real life -- you can't see it in dim light. But in natural light or a well lit room, the color really pops ๐๐ป
Curious to know if you studied computer science in college? If so, or if not, did you start learning prior to college? I.e. what did your path to where you now look like at the beginning of your development journey?
When you will join the seminar in Turkey.
Hey Una,
Two parter:
Hey @una, long-time listenerโ first time caller. I just wanted to say before I asked a question that I am a HUGE fan. I think the work you are doing in open source is hellah-rad.
Anyway, my question is incredibly controversialโ and I am sorry for that. But... what are your favorite breakfast tacos?
How do people from outside Spain thinks about Spain? and How do you think about Spain?
Hey @una,
What type of advice would you give to newer devs entering the front-end space today?
Ex: importance of Javascript, UI, "computer programming" skills, plugging into community, etc.
Any handy .vimrc tips or tricks? Also, do you use any vim plugins?
I just finished the Daily Rituals book as well. Did you like it?
I found it to be incredibly inspiring. Although, one thing that I took away from the book was just how many negative habits the famous artists, scientists, writers, and mathematicians use to fortify their deep work. They were mostly all addicted to either alcohol, cigars, cigarettes, or amphetamines. I found that to be really weird or just something I never thought about.
I think if that book was written in 2090 about innovators in this current time, I would hope there are less destructive habits mentioned. I know Tim Ferriss and a few others talk about the idea that writers have some kind of implicit "demons" as he calls it, that push them to keep writing or creating. I wonder if that's a commonality amongst all creatives.
^^ kind of an end of year question to get things going...
Well, my little secret is that I'm a pianist/musician. I'm not intended to spam you but I'll leave one of the songs I've played in the past. (Black keys by Frederic Chopin). I cheated on that one a bit, though.

Well, you wrote that your family was from Ukraine, and I always had the perception that Ukrainians have a gut for music, even if they are not interested in it. On the other hand, I always thought that music defines certain patterns on us that aren't easy to discover otherwise. Perhaps you can provide me with a list that can be an inspiration to finish my Website.
Hey Una,
My partner (@katbow), who has a background in teaching natural sciences, has recently started learning to code. I'm pretty excited about this! She's started with CodeAcademy courses such as HTML, CSS, and JS and just yesterday did her first code kata on CodeWars. Her goal is to join a coding bootcamp in January.
My question is, do you have any advice or words of encouragement for when she inevitably reaches the dark desert of despair. Those moments when you question yourself and feel like an imposter, that maybe you should be switching career goals -- which I think every programmer has gone through.
P.S. I'm your 300th follower on GitHub, woohoo!
Hello! I've been designing for a year now, I'm pretty fluent in HTML and CSS but I keep on getting intimidated by the syntax of JS. Could you recommend some resources for JS and were you intimated by JS when you started?

Both why almost, and why not?
I'm gathering from @rachelnabors's pictures that it's your birthday! ๐ ๐ ๐
How's your birthday been?
What apps do you use daily for managing tasks, to do lists, drafts ?
I think this is quite a hard question to answer (I know I couldn't answer it), but I'd be interested to know what your long term goals are.
You've "made it", in the sense that many people are interested in the things you create, you speak at conferences and are generally well known and liked. What are your next steps?
When you are submitting a talk to a conference how do you decide what would make for an interesting talk? Stuff you are working on, or the direction the industry is going?
Thanks!
What is the worst date you have ever gone on?
๐ Congratulations! What did you do differently, and how much more weight do you want to lose?
I really enjoyed your talk at CSSconf this year. I was wondering how did you come up with your idea? How did it start out and how did you get it developed into what it was?
How much do you actually use the Browser instead of Photoshop?
Do you use this method of designing at work? Are people confused by it?
Hey Una,
You're quite inspiring. I've really been stoked to use the personal-goals
repo format that I saw on your GitHub, it's been fun.
Just curious, what editor do you use for editing markdown + what editor do you use for coding?
Hope you have fun in the NYC snow!
How much does the way or extent to which you express it differ in professional context compared to personal context, or in another dimension, online compared to in person?
I've never introduced to computers by my environment.
In my childhood, girls had no interest in computers. In high school, I was the only girl who was into computer stuff. When working at companies, I always worked among men.
I like to think that my curiosity brought me here, even when the world said otherwise.
But I want to hear from you, Una! What is your story?
What's something you're really good at that people think you're just naturally good at, when in reality you spent a lot of effort getting better at over time?
e.g. drinking orange juice right after brushing your teeth with a straight face, or putting two socks on at the same time
