RecyclerView sometimes doesn't refresh when adding a new item
The sample project works fine on an emulator running Android Oreo, but has an annoying bug on real devices like Samsung Galaxy S3(LineageOS 14) and Sony Xperia S(nAOSP 7.1). When running the sample project on these older devices, the list does not always update when adding a new item. It is really annoying to stumble over a bug in a udacity sample project, especially when you are a newbie to programming like myself.
Code is outdated
In exercise 17, I am getting
Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: Bootstrap method returned null
In an emulator. On a real device I got a A/libc segment violation.
With this entry in the app gradle, the problem is fixed for me:
compileOptions {
sourceCompatibility = JavaVersion.VERSION_1_8
targetCompatibility = JavaVersion.VERSION_1_8
}
kotlinOptions {
jvmTarget = JavaVersion.VERSION_1_8
}
Doesn't save file and display the notes on the MainActivity, The query is not properly filled
Dependencies outdated
I created a pull request to update all the dependencies for this project.
