the plugin works well when choosing a location with a click. however, when there's only one answer, a normal UX would be to press ENTER to choose it. This break the app.

Is there a way to force the zoom level when selecting a place?

While using the custom options:
new L.Control.GPlaceAutocomplete({ position: "topleft", callback: function(location){ map.panTo(location); } }).addTo(map);
I got an error:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'lat' of null

However, it works great with no custom options:
new L.Control.GPlaceAutocomplete().addTo(map);

I want to use custom options for zoomTo(location), instead of panTo(location)

What could be the problem?

Hi, neat little plugin. Just thought I'd correct your example in the README which uses map.setView and map.setZoom in succession. This leads to the wrong places being found as pointed out here:
Leaflet/Leaflet#426

It's recommended to use:

map.setView( [lat, lon], zoomlevel);

The files simple.html and leaflet-gplaces-autocomplete.js still use the var keyword and needs to be converted to ES6 "let" keyword.

What do you think about tuning the search control to be more compact so that it unfolds on click - similar to what leaflet-search does (see http://labs.easyblog.it/maps/leaflet-search/examples/simple.html for example).

Maybe on could provide a collapsed flag to switch between compact and expanded appearance.
