Explanation:

Select init method tries to access autogen_name of Defer object. This attribute doesn't exist so __getattr__ fails.

This code:

from lib_carotte import *


def main() -> None:
    reg0 = Reg(Defer(1 , lambda : c[0]))
    c = reg0

is creating this netlist:

reg0 = REG _reg0_sel_0
_reg0_sel_0 = SELECT 0 reg0

The variable _reg0_sel_0 is missing in VAR
