Apply smaller braking force when the severity is smaller

Calculate situation severity based on the trend of distance change

A simple implementation would be:
Subtract the current (>0) distance from the previous (>0) distance and divide that by the time which elapsed between the two measurements. The result is (approx.) the velocity of the car relative to the obstacle. Divide the current distance by this velocity: this is the prospected time to hit the obstacle. 1/(prospectedTime) can be used as severity.
