Hmmmm,
I am kind of wondering if it doesn't make much more sense to not just issue a warning ( which might easily get lost if there's a lot of output ) but instead raise an exception.
Generating a scope which overrides an existing method seems always like something undesired, and, if a user really wants this he should have to do so manually in all cases.

i think also a exception would be better then a warning.
In our application, we have records which have the state :new.
The impact of this state was self explanatory :D
