Context

Written for CM10228 Principles of Programming

• No dependencies permitted
• All submitted code must be in the root of the submitted ZIP file
  • Therefore this code includes an ANT script to flatten, clean, compile and run the project, and no standard build systems are used

jchat's Issues

Client code is run from ChatClient

Client outputs all messages sent to server

Client defaults to localhost when connecting

Server shuts down when user types EXIT

Chat bot

Bot must be run as a client with same configuration options

DoDClient

Port DoD implementation to run as "DoDClient" and send/receive input from the socket

Server implementation is contained within ChatServer

Receive messages from clients

Renaming

Server uses 14001 as default port

Client reads messages from console

Client connects to server over TCP using Socket

Server configuration accepts -csp <port> to override default port

Accept clients over TCP using the Socket API

Broadcast messages to all connected clients

Client sends messages to server
