Beginning API Development with Node.js [eLearning]

Building your own API is a great way to start learning about server-side development with JavaScript. Learn everything you need to get up and running in this fast-paced, hands-on course.

What you will learn

  • Quickly get to grips with Node.js and the npm module system
  • Build a fundamental understanding of asynchronous programming in Node.js
  • Develop scalable and high-performing APIs using Hapi.js and Knex.js
  • Write unit tests for your API to ensure reliability and maintainability

Hardware requirements

For an optimal student experience, we recommend the following hardware configuration:

  • Intel Core i3 processor or equivalent
  • 2 GB RAM (1.5GB if running on a virtual machine)
  • 10 GB available hard disk space
  • 5400 RPM hard disk drive
  • DirectX 9-capable video card (1024 x 768 or higher resolution)

Software requirements

You’ll need the Windows 8 or higher (64-bit version) to run the code for this course.
