Simple python tool for creating animated audio/visual spectrograms.

Developed on:

Anaconda 3.18.4 (Python 3)

Necessary packages (as of 11/11/15):

Run with: python run.py

Graphics

The animated spectrogram in particular looks like it was built with a potato. Hope to be working toward a 3d colored plot a la https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvr9AMWEU-c. Looking into python-opengl tools https://glumpy.github.io/ and http://vispy.org/

Audio clipping

Pyaudio blocks on it's stream.write() calls, playing the tone, but preventing further computation from occurring, leading to a choppy sound. Ideally we would continue computing while the chord finishes, potentially blocking on a second call to stream.write() while the other finishes.

Remove hard coded values

many of these can be inferred from the signal and were just kludged in to get it running.

Control Buttons

Need to implement pause, speed controls.
Like to have visual region / transform window / spectrogram history / zoom etc. controls.

other xforms

It would be good to make this tool more general by allowing the user to choose from a collection of different DSP transforms
