Hello, I was hoping I could get some clarification on the installation instructions. I pulled down gala and cloned this project into the plugins folder, but I am not sure what Makefile.am I am supposed to symlink.

I assume it is not the Makefile.am in the main gala folder? ln -s Makefile.am plugins/gala-alternate-alt-tab/Makefile.am

Also, could anyone clarify what this step means?

Last thing you will need to install the schema file. You can just symlink the file and run glib-compile-schemas.

I am not familiar with schema files.

so great to see that others are also not 100% satisfied with current alt-tabbing in eOS too. Although it looks good it's not optimal for multiple monitors, fast alt-tabbing, low light situations etc.

Please make it so that the windows stay still while alt-tabbing please! It's kinda annoying when watching video on another monitor and it disappears when need to change windows on the main monitor.

If it would help make an alternative alt-tab see the light of day in eOS, I'm laying down a $100 bounty, split among the contributors however you would like

@tom95 are there any updates or fixes ever coming? deafult alt-tab on elementary os is still lacking

I am noticing a strange behavior when using an app with java (Netbeans in my case)

• I switch to the java app (maximized)
• Open some modal dialog and close it
  • At this point plank shows up over the maximized window just like if it had lost focus and also i need to press alt+(tab twice) if i want to switch to the next window in the switcher now. Switching to another window and going back to the java app is the only way to make plank hide again.

Same problem using default gala switcher except i dont have to press tab twice to switch to next windows there so im not really sure this is completely a switcher problem.
