everyhourbot's Issues

Documentation doesnt cover setting up an application on mastodon like it does with twitter api

I'm having an issue with setting up bot, it outputs: "Error creating Toot: TypeError [ERR_INVALID_URL]: Invalid URL" which is caused by a invalid redirect URL on the mastodon application but ive never handled oauth 2.0 before so im not entirely sure what URL i should be using

edit: it turns out i was completely wrong and i just put the URL in the .env file incorrectly (no https:// ), it would still be nice to have instructions in the readme.md for mastodon though

Error creating tweet: [object Object] in log, no tweet sent

For context I run "FerretPerHour" on twitter, it was running on Twitters V1 api but got suspended from the that api and I was forced to migrate to the V2 free api. Which was pretty painless and worked out of the box besides some log issues, but recently the bot stopped posting and started logging "Error creating tweet: [object Object]" multiple times over in the logs

/home/green/.pm2/logs/FerretEveryHour-error.log last 15 lines:
0|FerretEv | Error creating tweet: [object Object]
0|FerretEv | Error creating tweet: [object Object]
0|FerretEv | Error creating tweet: [object Object]
0|FerretEv | Error creating tweet: [object Object]

I've tried this on two machines and same result. it might be twitter changing something on their end regarding the V2 api, ive seen your posts on masto/twitter about how stressful the whole V2 situation is. so dont worry about fixing this issue immediately since its working flawlessly on mastodon ๐Ÿ‘

Docker Container

I'd like to run this from a container so I can slap it in my k3s cluster and go "check out all these pictures minor league baseball team alternative team logos".

I'm more than happy to do the work for this.
