Efemerides is an easy component for Joomla to manage important historical events.

How to use this repository

Download the repository with git

git clone git://github.com/hermes-logicalbricks/Efemerides.git

cd Efemerides

Change to the branch that you want, (for Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.6 or Joomla 2.5)

git checkout joomla15

git checkout joomla16

Now, enter to the folder that contain the extension that you want:

• component : This folder contains the back-end and front-end administrator for Joomla.
• module : This folder contains the module to use on the Joomla front-end to show on the diferents positions of the layout.

You can compress all the content of the folder, and you will have the extension ready to install on your Joomla site.

Development

There are three branches:

• joomla15 : Only Joomla! 1.5 compatible.
• joomla16 : Only Joomla! 1.6 compatible.
• master: For Joomla! 2.5 development.

efemerides's Issues

component - save and cancel buttons in pagetitle

Hi Hermes,
In the Efemerides component New, the pagetitle only shows the Cancel button and not the Save button?

Efemerides Module style output

Hi Hermes,
The Efemerides module style output is not what I like, e.g.

date
title
description
link to the event
show all the events

How can I create this e.g. (I'm not a CSS wizzkid ;-) :

date, title1
description1, link to the event

date, title2
description2, link to the event

show all the events

component - style issues

Hi Hermes,
In the Efemerides component New, I found some style issues:

1. ALIAS and PUBLISHED are uppercase, the others not
2. The PUBLISHED Radio buttons are not aligned
3. The default for PUBLISHED is No, I think you should change it to Yes
4. Make the Title and Alias input textbar the same length

Hi Hermes,
I'm not able to 'Pull Requests', so I use it this way.

I'm a big fan of SEF sites and use sh404SEF (v3.4.6) at the moment. The Efemerides module links look like this and are not SEF at the moment:

a. Link to the event
http://www.domain.com/component/com_efemerides/event,5/

b. Show all the events
http://www.domain.com/component/com_efemerides/

Suggestion for Efemerides

Efemerides is an awesome Joomla component and module. It lacks only one thing that I can think of. The ability to create categories in the component section and then the ability to display by category in the module. I use it on a music site. I currently use it to display events in history (such as awards and birthdays) but would also like to use it to display #1 songs on this day in history but not have it in the same module. modules can be duplicated but without Efemrides having categories, it would put everything in the same module.

Please consider adding the ability to create categories in the component and displaying by category in the module.
Unfortunately, we can't install 2 instances of the same component or this would be a mute issue.

Again, a fantastic component and module.
