The education committee is responsible for developing, sponsoring, and providing educational opportunities for the .NET community.

Main Goals of the Education Committee

• Create open source educational content for the .NET community
• Partner and run educational opportunities that train new and existing .NET developers
• Empower those who are underrepresented and underserved in the community

Joining the Committee & Meetings

We'd love for you join the education committee! Please request to join the education team if you are interested in contributing to the group. We'll add you to our monthly meeting invite. Meetings are held on Microsoft Teams.

Current Initiatives

The .NET Foundation Academy

Develop and run a program for higher education computer science students to learn about software development using C# and .NET. The first curriculum focuses on full stack web development using .NET 6. The course will be a 12-week virtual classroom-based instruction that combines hands-on lectures and workshops. Students will develop a project from ideation to deployment while applying the tools, concepts, and processes desired by high-tech employers.

Proposals

If you have an idea you would like to propose to the Education committee relating to the main goals of our group, please create an Issue in our working group GitHub repository. We are still working on a more formal proposal process.
