I wanted to check out quickly the pre-modified theme, because I think I've found an issue but as the demo leads to your personal blog and not an actual demo of the theme (only one usecase of it), I couldn't check the issue because your site doesn't use all the features that come with the theme.

I know this is not an actual issue, I could just make a clean repo to try this issue out, but I'm just putting this here for you to consider.

Love the theme by the way! It's not perfect, but it's one of the best ones I've seen and it's quite easy to extend and modify because the code is clean.

I think it would make sense, as you can use the variables in the _fundamentals.scss if you move the variables up. I don't see how it could break anything, but it took me a solid 5 minutes to realise why my variables were broken (haven't configured source maps as this is my scss project yet :D)

The currently used :focus in _fundamentals.scss makes the sites inaccessible. Hiding the default outline when tab cycling through links breaks the usability for people with motor issues as they can't see which element is currently focused.
