kick-rpc

kick-rpc is a tool that allows streamers to have a rich presence on Discord. By using Discord's rich presence feature, you can display personalized information about your stream to your Discord community.

Requirements

To use kick-rpc, you will need:

  • A computer
  • Node.js (Stable or latest version). You can download Node.js from the official website: nodejs.org

Getting Started

Follow these steps to set up kick-rpc for your stream:

  • If you are Lazy to go steps from 1 to 4 just use this Client ID: 1118540819310321744
  1. Go to discord.com developer page
  2. Create a new application
  3. Customize the username of the bot to change the "big" text that appears on Discord
  4. Go to the OAuth2 section and copy the "Client ID"
  5. Rename config.json.example to config.json
  6. Open the config.json file and paste the Client ID along with all your other info for the config
  7. In the Discord Developer Portal, navigate to the "Rich Presence" category, then go to "Art Assets" and upload your desired image(s). Please note that it may take a few minutes for the images to appear on the page. You can refresh the page to check if they have been successfully uploaded.
  8. Open a terminal or command prompt and navigate to the directory where you have the kick-rpc files.
  9. You can either use the easy-use.bat or run the following commands in the terminal:
    • npm i | to install the necessary dependencies
    • npm start | to launch the script
