Hi @lzap
Can you provide some additional information.
What projected Foreman release will this be a part of?
I would suggest that we add another section after this section here so we can keep a lot of the DHCP admin tasks close together:
What do you think?
So this is just a command and the command performs a sync? Is there anything that the user needs to be aware of if they run the command?
Is there any procedure that it would be a good idea to add this step as "Before you do this, sync the DHCP records"?
Thanks :)
from foreman-documentation.
Two commands which compares Foreman DB (hosts) and DHCP Smart Proxy (reservations). One adds all missing entries to DHCP, the other deletes unexpected entries on DHCP.
User must be warned that this expects that all DHCP records (aka reservations) are managed by Foreman. This can easily clear out reservation made by some other programs or humans. That's all.
Ideally, you don't need to do this. When there is a bug or failure, DHCP can get out of sync with Foreman DB and then you need it. This can be part of maintainance or even upgrade procedure.

Ok so maybe an entry into the Troubleshooting section in Provisioning guide:
Then a link to this in a note in the upgrading guide.
Is there a way for us to reference the PR here so we know when this is merged to have an idea which version this will be targeted for?
Thanks!
Melanie
