When I try this I keep getting "Failed to run Actions due to error: null" and 
am not sure how to resolve this or which version of alfresco will work with the

Dear all,

is it possible to install PDF Toolkit in Alfresco 5.0?

I tried to install the 1.0.0 version of the Toolkit and no new functionality 
are added.

Then I supposed the good one for Alfresco 5.0 could be 1.1 but same results.

The step I've useed to procede at Installation were the following:

1- Installation of alfresco 5.0
2- Download ofPDF Toolkit.
3- copy of the file "alfresco-pdf-toolkit-1.1.1.amp" under alfresco\amps
4- copy of the file "alfresco-share-pdf-toolkit-1.1.1.amp" under 
alfresco\amps_share
5- I've stopped the Tomcat Service
6- edited the apply_amps.bat and commented the last 9 lines:

No entry with watermark option is available in Alfresco.

Could you say to me if there is something lost in my procedure to deploy AMPs 
modules?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select a PDF document in the Share document library
2. Select the "Watermark PDF Document" action
3. Fill out the form and select 'text' watermarking add the message 'Test Text' 
to the text field, select a destination folder and any text position

I would expect that a new PDF would be created in the chosen folder with the 
watermark text inserted.

Instead I get a pop-up saying "The Watermark operation failed."

I am able to apply image watermarks successfully. I have not tried the other 
PDF Toolkit features to see if they are working.

I saw a remark on an earlier issue about a "known issue" if image watermarking 
works but text does not?

I can't sign a PDF document.

On the document details page add a Download as PDF action.

Allowing the user to Download the current document as a PDF.

The action would be displayed if the current document is not a pdf and if there 
is a registered transformer for the current mimetype to PDF.

2.We test the tool; we can encript documents, split them, etc.
3.After a couple of days, we can't use the actions.

Can't neither create or delete action rules.

During the installation process the AMP SHARE reports some issues:

02170000 ERROR: The amp will overwrite an existing file in the war 
'/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/components/rules/config/
rule-config-action.get.config.xml'. Execution halted.  By specifying -force , 
you can force installation of AMP regardless of the current war state.

this module not supported in 3.4d version some java script exception is showing 
when creating watermark

In looking at what needs to be done to enable the toolkit for share we should 
probably look at if we want to continue to implement them as actions exposed to 
the rules engine or should we just create them as document actions?

Pros:
I believe these would be simpler to implement, using the FDK.
--Most all (or all) of the actions currently require user input to perform.
--There is no execute action at the document level, which means that we need to 
add one.
--As a rule we might need to add write YUI widgets to add them to the rules 
engine.  Most of the ones needed may already to exist in the FDK.

Cons:
No rules could be created using these actions.
--though they could be scripted.

Use the javascript console and runt the code attached. Make sure the document 
object is set (start the javascript console from right click of pdf in document 
library or assign by adding code).

Compare form-e-eng_pg12.pdf (492KB) with form-e-eng.12.pdf (94KB, produced by 
www.splitpdf.com) which works correctly. Note the 5x size difference, and that 
the split page is bigger than the original doc (422KB). Note that saving 
form-e-eng_pg12.pdf in Adobe Reader first (leaving a 97KB doc), then closing 
and re-opening the document enables form data as expected.

Hi, this is not really an issue but rather a question.

Would it be possible for you to build the pdf-toolkit as a jar file which we 
can add in a lib directory instead of an amp?

Like for example the share-extra's project on google code.

2. Sign with diferent Key Store Files, in a serial mode.(Hidden Signature)

The expected output: All signatures should be valid.

After the signatures have been applied, when the pdf is open with adobe reader 
or Nitro Pro 8 ,it says that the last signature made is valid (No changes were 
made to the document) but the previous signatures are stated as invalid.

The rule options appear but the share options do not.  We are new to Alfresco 
and it is possible we missed something simple on the install.  The logs logs 
clean.  I have attached screen shots to clarify the issue.

1. Create new folder rule with 2 steps: Step 1: Encrypt PDF with target folder 
"encrypted", Step 2: Move to target folder "original".
2. Note that Step 1 will change to use target folder of step 2 (i.e. "original" 
instead of "encrypted").
3. Rule fails because encrypted PDF goes into "original", then step 2 tries to 
move into same folder, get conflict.

1. Stop Alfresco.
2. Install Alfresco PDF Toolkit 1.1.1.

The problem is very simple. When I reproduce the steps mentioned above, I 
receive the next errors:

1. Create rule on folder to apply Watermark PDF whenever mimetype Adobe PDF 
Documents are created or enter folder.
2. Next to Watermark Image, click Select File
3. Left-hand column says "Not a valid nodeRef: 'null://null/null' "

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see a list of folders in which to search and select watermark 
image. Instead, folders are replaces with above error message. Works fine when 
adding watermark to individual files though. It's only when trying to add a 
rule to an entire folder.

Hi,
after submitting the watermark form for a pdf file, i get from this post call:

This error occurs on alfresco 4.0.0  win or linux

We use PDF Toolkit Version : 0.97

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create custom content type for example custom:invoice
2. Upload 1 document and make rule in its space : if custom metadata 
(custom:ApproveStatus)=Approved then apply watermark inf Space "Result"
3. The watermark result is shown perfectly in space "Result", but the result 
has content type cm:content, not custom:invoice

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the expected output : the watermark result also has the same content type 
(which is "invoice"), and has its original metadata values.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
We use PDF Toolkit Version : 0.97
OS : Linux

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a rule for watermarking using Alfresco Explorer , e.g for site called 
Pruebas
2. Upload a document from Alfresco Share web interface to Pruebas
3. Upload a document from Alfresco Explorer web interface to Pruebas

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When uploading from Alfresco Explorer it works as expected, adding the 
watermark to the PDF file, but when uploading from Share it does nothing. Also 
if I try to edit the rule form the Share interface the system shows the message 
'Could not load rule information'. The same occurs if I want to sign PDF.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using version 0.97 and Alfresco Community 3.4.b, while the host OS is 
Debian Lenny.

Please provide any additional information below.
I can't create the rule from Share interface because some blanks I must fill 
for watermarking are showed without any label. For watermarking there are ten 
blank spaces without labels such X Position, Y Position, Watermark text or 
image and so on. I'll attach an image showing it.


P.D. Thanks a lot, you're doing a great job for the community and for the small 
bussiness or non-profit organizations which can't afford the cost of Alfresco 
Enterprise.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Uploaded a test PDF file into a space which has a content rule on Encrypt 
PDF action
2. Go to a destination folder and download the encrypted file
3. Open encrypted file in Wordpad

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Not sure that the file is encrypted since some text is still readable. Attached 
is the output of the encrypted file.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using version 0.94 in an Alfresco Ent 3.2r environment

Please provide any additional information below.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Copied alfresco-pdf-toolkit-0.97.amp to location Alfresco\amps
2. Executed apply_amps.bat from location Alfresco\bin
3. Restarted Alfresco server.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No impact of alfresco-pdf-toolkit-0.97.amp installation. Cant see anything 
related to alfresco-pdf-toolkit.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Tried on Alfresco enterprise 4.0 and 3.4.5. Operating System: WindowsXP

No error log sees in lof files. Cant see any change on Alfresco/Share GUI post 
installation of this AMP.

Please let us know what could be an issue.
