fiware-monitoring's Issues

This issue is related to task CLAUDIA-4186.

'ngsi_event_broker_xifi.so' is using an old or unspecified version of the event broker API

I am trying to integrate the Monitoring GE into our infrastructure. We already use Nagios 4.0.7 for monitoring a number of hosts and services.
I installed the package fiware-monitoring-ngsi-event-broker from the debian repository.

When I configure broker_module as stated in the documentation and launch Nagios, I get the following error:

Error: Module '/opt/fiware/ngsi_event_broker/lib/ngsi_event_broker_xifi.so' is using an old or unspecified version of the event broker API. Module will be unloaded.

I suspect the ngsi-event-broker to be incompatible with Nagios 4.
Is there a way to use the event broker with Nagios 4?

Thanks!

Warn about /etc/hosts missing hostname in ngsi_event_broker ./configure

Given that NGSI Event Broker resolves hostname to get an IP address of the local host being monitored, /etc/hosts should include an entry for that hostname.

It could be helpful if ./configure script detects whether /etc/hosts contains that information, by trying to resolve hostname.

Add timestamp attribute to every adaptation request to NGSI Adapter

Each measure collected by monitoring systems should have an associated timestamp.

Current version of Context Broker does not consider such timestamp for the attributes of entities, so we have two choices:

  1. Force the originating probes to send a timestamp together the rest of data
  2. Let NGSI Adapter automatically add current timestamp when processing a request.

Option 2) its preferred, as it does not require any change on source monitoring systems.

This issue is related to XIFI task #1228.
