We followed them for a reason at one point, right? maybe they're offline, deployed, etc.

Instead of just deleting, add them to a list. That we can check back periodically without it affecting follower count ratios; if we visually see them they go active again, can re-follow manually.

because the whole add-them-to-a-list thing doesn't work if you unfollow... and then you've lost them forever. :-/

the User record includes a "protected" attribute set to true/false -- should be able to evaluate that easily enough

existing script is eerily quiet, no feedback about what's going on.

would prefer:

• default output be to STDOUT
• keep mailto as an optional ADDITIONAL output
• add a quiet flag to suppress output, for original cron-based behavior

add a dry run option, that does everything the existing script does -- but just prints who WOULD be removed rather than removing them

will ease testing, too

Perhaps related, Twitter UI has been oddly unresponsive lately. Perhaps the API is following suit?

Perhaps safer to not remove users (here) for whom there are no tweets if that is in fact an error case.
