thunderbird-send's Issues

Support for TB 78

Hi,
is there a version available for TB V78?

Whould be nice.

TIA
Dirk

Links expire too soon on default instance

Hi, thanks for maintaining this, and sorry if this isn't the right place to report this... I installed it for the first time yesterday, and sent some files to a couple of people. I set the "default time limit" to 10080, didn't change anything else. The upload and link seemed to work, but the links have already expired, less than 24 hours later.

One more thing, the message seems to be delivered with a strange attachment, "part 1.2", which is empty if you try to save it. Is that normal, and can it be deleted somehow before sending, so that recipients don't think that's the actual file attachment?

Does not work

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your job.
I just installed your plugin and unfortunately it doesn't work for me.
Each time I try to link a file, the process begins well but a few seconds after the upload begins a message appears :
"The download or time limit is likely above the maximum supported by this Send service instance"
The current file is about 3,5 Mo and the plugin set to 2 Go...
Do I miss something into the settings ?
Best regards

https://send.vis.ee blocked by Malwarebytes

I have just set up Send Provider for Thunderbird and it worked beautifully until the download was blocked by Malwarebytes, screenshot attached. It didn't appear until I attempted to download the file. I chose the test file itself to be large but innocuous, the Thunderbird installation file. I then checked https://send.vis.ee on the Norton website and it was again identified as dangerous. All other URL checkers that I tried didn't identify https://send.vis.ee as dangerous. Presuming that this https://send.vis.ee is not dangerous and that Malwarebytes and Norton are just being overly cautious, I suggest that you contact them and seek to have https://send.vis.ee removed from their lists of dangerous URLs.

language setting for the sent

In case of having Thunderbird in certain language (Czech) when I compose an email in English, the Thunderbird Send attachment info and link is written in the Czech language too, not in English. It would be nice to have a possibility to change the language of the info of the Thunderbird in English.

Changing Send server does not work

I just installed the plugin to test it my self and used my own Send server.

setting the URL to https://send.nvds.be and clicking verify gives the success toast, but when using it i get following

so as you can see its uploading it to the default server

Failed to work

Hi Tim,

Thanks for taking on this work. I've sporadically used the original service in the past.

I'm sorry to say that it failed to work. I used default settings but changed TTL to 5000 mins. I hit Encrypt and Upload and it errored with:

image

It is a 19 Meg file.

I went to the site https://send.vis.ee/ directly and it worked with no problems.

Cheers,

Brooke

Upload files fails in version 2.0 on Thunderbird 102.12.0

Hi,

All files were not being uploaded to any server under version 2.0. App produced a short error message like "unable to upload the file", and not going on. I have not investigated into the issue, but I fixed it by downgrading till 1.2 version, where it works perfectly.

I am using Thunderbird 102.12.0 under GNU Linux Debian 5. I guess it is probably related with thunderbird version, once I upgrade it (after summer), I will tell you if it gets solved (and it is just that version 2.0 requires a higher version).

Best regards and thank you for this wonderful tool,
Antonio

Question about adding a password for each attachment

I see that the service itself does support passwords for each file attachment/upload.
That would be a welcome feature on the plugin as well - as the wiki also states.

I created this issue in order to find out:

  1. if this is still the repo where development happens for the plugin and future versions will end up in Thunderbird addons section. Just in case I am in the mood to learn Thunderbird plugin development a bit and make a pull req...
  2. if I want to donate to 'stimulate' :) this feature, where should the donation go to? The info and donate pages direct towards @tdulcet but a few other places say that @timvisee is maintaining it (although I don't see a fork from him). So where do donations for future development go? Should the info/donate pages be updated?
