cmake-find-boost-exercise's Issues

MSYS2 packaged CMake doesn't support MSYS2 packaged Boost

MSYS2's cmake is 3.9.6, but boost is at 1.66.0. CMake 3.10.1 doesn't support imported targets for Boost 1.66.0 yet (pending CMake merge request 1625), and the updated FindBoost.cmake from that tree requires CMake 3.10.

So once CMake is released supporting Boost 1.66.0, then I can push a CMake update to MSYS2. Right now, CMake 3.10.1 in MSYS2 + the local_modules branch for updated FindBoost.cmake would be workable.

mingw-w64 builds appear to always be statically linked to boost

A quick look at the executable produced by AppVeyor showed no import for the boost DLLs.

This might be a CMake issue, if it's searching for the .a, and not the .dll.a. mingw-w64's linker normally takes care of this by linking to .dll.a if necessary.

Not sure if this is a core CMake issue, or something in the way FindBoost.cmake is set up. Also, need to verify this with a minimal unit test, against current CMake (MSYS2 packages cmake 3.9.6 currently).

Real unit tests

Right now this is really a compile-and-execute test. Ideally, it should be an actual unit test, something I can use ctest with. This would also let me add more module variations.
