I desperately need it . Please release....

Certain new features are now available with OpenSSL 1.1.0 where the bundled LibreSSL is (compared to OpenSSL 1.1.0) now outdated. With dynamic linking, OpenSSL can be updated separately from h2o (so no rebuilt is required).
Would it be possible to have a special "systemssl"-build (for example with the package name h2o-openssl)?

Debian 9 (Stretch) will release in 16 days (17th June 2017).

How to build Debian packages of h2o for Debian 9?

Bintray shut down on May 1, 2021, so this package's repository no longer works.

as explained in h2o/h2o#84 (comment) the init script for sysvinit doe snot work cos does nohting for stop and restart commands:

root@debian:/etc/h2o# service h2o status
[ ok ] h2o is running.
root@debian:/etc/h2o# service h2o stop
root@debian:/etc/h2o# service h2o status
[ ok ] h2o is running.

This problem is not well detected in debian recent shit versions cos are infgected by shistemd process but in MXlinux and devuan fails cos shistemd process are not used and init script is well used!

i will put a PR to fix the script @hsbt @tatsushid

Any plans to support H2O beta releases?
