Simplified version of the JGIT library

gitversioning

This is a java console application which is the simplified version of the JGit library.

Getting Started

Clone/download project. In eclipse, select import-->maven-->Existing Maven Projects. Select the cloned/donwloaded project base folder and then submit.

Prerequisities

Install git to your machine before running the project.

For windows: Go to http://git-scm.com/download/win, download and install.

Make sure your environment variable is correct. Go My Computer-->Properties-->Advanced system settings-->Advanced-->Environment Variables At system variables, find variable 'PATH', add 'C:\Program Files\Git\cmd' (my path to installed GIT).

Check if git is ready. Run command:

git --version

And you must see something like:

git version 1.9.5.msysgit.1

Running the tests

At eclipse, right click project and select "debug as-->JUnit Test". Make sure your JUnit plugin is installed.
