Foreign Direct Investment Analytics: Leveraging historic data from 2000-01 to 2016-17, this GitHub project delves into India's FDI trends. Sector and year-wise analyses uncover key metrics and relationships, aiding in risk mitigation and informed investment decisions.

Problem Statement:

Investment is a game of understanding historic data of investment objects under different events but it is still a game of chances to minimize the risk we apply analytics to find the equilibrium investment. To understand the Foreign direct investment in India for the last 17 years from 2000-01 to 2016-17. This dataset contains sector and financial year-wise data of FDI in India Sector-wise investment analysis Year-wise investment analysis. Find key metrics and factors and show the meaningful relationships between attributes.

Approach

The main goal of the project is to find key metrics and factors and then show meaningful relationships between them based on different features available in the dataset.

Data Collection : Imported data from various datasets available in the project using Pandas library. 

Data Cleaning : Removed missing values and created new features as per insights. 

Data Preprocessing : Modified the structure of data in order to make it more understandable and suitable and convenient for statistical analysis. 

Data Analysis : I started analyzing dataset using Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib and Seaborn. 

Data Visualization : Plotted graphs to get insights about dependent and independent variables. Also used Tableau for data visualization.

Conclusion

  • Each financial year, we can see from the Tableau dashboard observations that every sector is making an effort to invest as much as possible.
  • Because certain industries invest more than others, some invest less, and some don't invest at all during the financial years.
  • The SERVICES SECTOR (Fin., Banking, Insurance, Non Fin/Business, Outsourcing, R&D, Courier, Tech. Testing and Analysis, Other) and Computer Software& Hardware Components & Some sectors are attempting to invest larger sums than the other industries.
  • Certain sectors make investments each financial year, regardless of how the trend shifts.
  • MATHEMATICAL,SURVEYING AND DRAWING INSTRUMENTS is the sector with maximum number of financial years with zero investment.
  • Maximum investment has been done in the year 2016-17 and lowest investment has been done in 2003-04.
