A Fancier Torch Quest

Quest #229: A Fancier Torch says Only 1 task needed to complete quest but requires all 3 to be complete

Slightly increase rate of "loose screws"

I have opened quite a few of the scrap piles. I have components to make various plates and gears, but they are kinda useless as I've only received enough loose screws to assemble one plate or gear:

Suggest increasing the rate for loose screws so this stuff aint just sitting in a crate being useless.

No Silent's mining level 3 pick

The recent change to inhibit early game flight has left the pack without a Silent's gems pick to mine obsidian until after reaching the end.

The progression is Flint (ironic as the pack claims to avoid that), Some normal gem pick (mining level 2) which as far as I can see you need a vanilla iron pick or some other mods equivalent to get these gems. Silent's seems to skip mining level 3 straight to the super gems at level 4(cobalt).

I was able to use all vanilla methods to get to the end and avoid the dragon long enough to collect what I needed early game. Took a few hours to rush flight this time, but having to use a vanilla nerfed diamond pick to get obsidian early on is a pain.

Celestial Altar Quest Bugged

Celestial Altar crafted and picked up. Even with a forced Detect/Submit, quest still not recognizing as complete.

Open Blocks Is Out

Not really and "issue", but open block has just been updated... that is all. (P.S Loving your pack, thanks for being so active in the github)

Useless dust from stone seperator

Small Stone(dustStone) needs a use. It is piling up quite quickly from the stone seperator. Suggest at least adding a recipe to make 4 dust = 1 stone(smooth). The only 2 usages for it currently are as a 2 heart projectile weapon (useless with silents bows), and to hoe grass into farmland (again pretty useless).

Alchemic Condenser/Retort (3. No one use machines.)

The pack claims to not have me craft a machine I will use once and then toss in a chest. The Advanced Alchemic machines can do everything that the normal one does. Suggest using the old parts in the recipes for the advanced ones. Also the advanced takes 3 retorts, having the player only craft 2 for the quest kinda stumped me and i had to leave the game to check online what was wrong.

Itemduct (Opaque) - Magneticraft Lead

Magneticraft lead doesn't work to create itemducts, the script doesn't use oreLead but specifies the Thermal Expansion lead. The magneticraft lead can be turned into nuggets then re-crafted into Thermal lead.

Blocks of Aluminum in a Sawmill

There's a recipe for Block of Aluminium (IE) to be placed in sawmill to create 9 Aluminium Sheetmetal (IE). However, I have Aluminum from Thermal Foundation, and this block will not be placed in the sawmill.

Recipes for Unmakeable Machinery?

this is a suggestion/possibility/canthisbedone:
If possible, can the entire recipe lists for machines that can't be crafted (like the Redstone Furnace from Thermal Expansion) be deleted post-recipe generation? It's quite annoying to go looking for ways to process ore for example, and get lost in three different machines (with unaltered output recipes) that you can't actually make. If the recipes cannot be deleted outright, then maybe tweak all of said recipes to output a special item that basically exists just to say this machine doesn't exist, filling in the auto-generated recipes.

Lost cities "default" profile

The quest book seems to prefer I stay away from the cities. However, the default settings if I just click "create world" have the default generator as Lost Cities and it by default uses the "default" profile, which pretty much makes the world an endless city with only small areas here and there lacking some sort of structure. Even choosing to customize the world and choosing the "rare" profile for Lost Cities has them appear quite frequently, 4 new maps so far and I gave up as each one started me within view of a city. 3 so far have placed me IN a city staring at a building at spawn.

Sky stone dust

Hello,
I can't make the skystone dust with the crushing table(magneticraft). Using the Iron hammer on the sky stone doesn't do anything.

Using a bucket on a DNA Etractor returns empty bucket - no DNA

Finally got enough power and drones to make 1000mb of Liquid DNA. Used an empty bucket on the machine and it destroyed the Liquid DNA. Machine and bucket were empty. Thought maybe a desync issue so saved/quit/reloaded.. bucket and machine still empty.

Redstone furnace uncraftable

Starmetal ore can be processed on the Crushing Table then put in the sluice box to get Astral Starmetal Chunk... the only usage for this in JEI is to make an ingot in the Redstone Furnace, but the furnace is not craftable(line 27 of thermal.zs)

Better than Potions (#180)

The Rustic potions just say "Elixir of" without any specifics. I know it was working in previous versions, but this quest seems to have changed.

Quest rewards?

There doesn't seem to be any rewards for completing quests. Knowing this from my 1st map, I didn't even open the quest book until well into making steel. Thus I had to tear down several machines just to get the quest to complete. Having some incentive, however small, would entice me to actually use the quest book. Punching wood... give some sticks, more wood, flint... something, nothing OP or amazing. unless the quest is one of the make this, you might not ever use it as there is better items, like the container quest, I had acquired over a stack of chests by the time that quest was a thing.

Kiln Brick - Gem Coated Bricks

Looks like you're sharing ore dictionary recipes with some gems, but not all. Moonstone, for example, is not on this list. Is this intended?

Bottling Machine Can't be Made

Right clicking on the conveyor belt to convert the multiblock into a bottling machine only turns the conveyor belt, it does not convert it.

Silent's Gems enchantment tokens - all modded tokens uncraftable

Enchantment tokens for any enchant that is from a mod do not have a recipe. Dunno if this is a bug with Siltent's Gems or not. Can always minetweak recipes in for those tokens.

Affected tokens -

  • Random Things: Magnetic
  • EvilCraft: Vengence, Unusing, Breaking, Poison Tip
  • CofH Core: Holding, Multishot, Vorpal, Leech, Smelting, Insight
  • BiblioCraft: Eternal Compass, Reading
  • Astral Sorcery: Night Vision, Scorching Heat
  • Draconic Evolution: Reaper
  • Extra Utilities 2: Bladerang, Boomereaperang, Burnerang, Kaboomerang, Zoomerang

I think that's all of them. Vanilla and Silent's enchants are all craftable.

Magneticraft Copper Tank & Buckets:

When I am right clicking a copper tank with more than one bucket in a stack, the entire stack of buckets are replaced with one filled bucket and the other buckets just disappear.

Wrenching Docking Station loses Calculator Inside

As the subject suggests, I wrench (crescent hammer) the docking station with a regular calculator inside of it. It spins, but the calculator is just gone. Even breaking the block doesn't drop the calculator again.

Unsure if this is a pack bug or a calculator bug.

Suggestion: Not have Botania require inverted potentia

I'm essentially waiting for rain to be able to start botania. So, I'm waiting on a random event to be able to progress. Not exactly the most exciting of things. Maybe something else or even just the inverted potential core is fine itself, just don't need to empower it.

Crafting Basic Gas Tank Credits Creative Gas Tank

I don't know exactly what triggered it, but I was crafting basic gas tanks, and on the fourth or fifth one, I randomly got credited for the Creative Gas Tank. I am playing on the JakeO sub server (which has RS installed). Not sure if RS would impact it, and I'm not sure why it was the fourth or fifth craft that gave me credit for it. Posting just in case.

Creative watering can defective

Just made the creative watering can, went out harvested my wheat, tryed to use the can (after adding water to it) to grow the crops... didn't seem to do anything, not even water particles. It also claims to hydrate farm land, so I went away from water and hoed some land, used the can again, the farmland remained un-hydrated.

Edit: also switched to creative in case it somehow only worked in creative mode.. still nothing.

Uncraftable items, in spite of recipes

As Title says. specifically:
Silent's Gems Manual: This one isn't on your end, last pack we played with this mod it was uncraftable as well.
More importantly,
Evilcraft Blood Extractor. yep. recipe shows in JEI. placing items in a crafting grid shows 1 on the "how many to take button". output slot is empty. No amount of adjustment will work.

EDIT: what the??? the Evilcraft Blood Infuser is also uncraftable!
And the Thermalilly wont craft, even though the apothecary shows it correctly and asks for seeds.

that's... pretty much all.

CofH Mana Infused ore (oreMithril) not generating

Thus far I haven't found any. Looked at the cofh world config files and I don't see it in there. It doesn't generate by default and must be added in modpacks. See: https://teamcofh.com/docs/mana-infused-ore/

Retrieval versus crafting quests

Several times now I have had to backtrack or create extra(sure i will use them) stuff. Coke bricks, blast bricks, petal apothecary have all had to be picked back up in world, only minor annoyances like the coke oven was still full of creosote and I had to make treated wood before breaking it.

I noticed ?all? the quests are type "retrieval", other pack i have played I believe there is a "crafting" variant. If I got excited when something opened up and crafted a whole bunch of stuff it would still recognize in the book without having to get it back in my inventory.

Redstone ore overworld generation disabled?

Don't know if it's intentional but in 00_minecraft.json it seems as dimension 0 is on a blacklist for"redstone_otherdim" (line 223) even though the section above it allows redstone in dimension 0 (line 202).

Quest Description: Quest: Expensive Mek Box

Suggestion: While I realize that you do not have any quest descriptions written, I highly recommend making a quest description sooner rather than later for the Obsidian Case. There's no way to tell how many reinforced obsidian is needed for the case. I eventually figured it out, but the quest description can really help here.

Suggestion: Chiseled block oredict with customized crafts

I know that chisel is having a few issues, and I cannot claim to know what that's about, but I saw that some recipes work for chiseled glowstone as if it treats it as regular glowstone. Would it be possible to oredictionary these chiseled glowstone to work in the custom recipes you've created?

Getting tired of the same old expert progression. Make flint tools?

Yes, yes I am, but the logical starter tools in this pack with the nerf to vanilla tools is Silent's Gems flint tools/weapons.

Suggest adding Silent's Gems: Extra Parts (https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/silents-gems-extra-parts). This mod supports many of the mods in this pack: Vanilla alternatives (polished wood/stone), Botania, Calculator, Thermal Expansion/Immersive.

This would likely solve issue #1 as I believe steel and some of the others can mine obsidian+. This would also allow completely nerfing vanilla and setting their durability to one(1).
