A design/dev challenge for members of the let's build web community
The focus of this challenge is to let you be as creative as you like. Having been handed a simple website how will you apply styling, what choices will you make to enhance the site?
A winner will be selected by Spasmodic who will pay up to $50USD for a prize of your choosing. The type of prize will be negotiated between yourself and Spasmodic, the prize should be related to web development. Some examples of a suitable prize would be a course or a book.
- fork the repo
- create a new branch with your discord username
- run
npm install -g parcel-bundler
to install parcel globally, this is needed for features like live reload - run
npm install
to install the dependencies - run
npm run dev
to run the website in development mode - style the website content how you like, place your styles inside the challenge.css file
- commit your changes
- submit a pr to merge your changes with my main branch

- add additional copy or media
- delete any existing elements
- install additional dependencies
- edit or add copy

- modify existing tags
- add additional tags so long as they do not contain additional copy or media (images, video etc.)
- [50%] Creativity, have fun! Get jiggy with it! How creative can you get?
- [30%] Responsiveness, do the applied styles manage variable device-widths effectively?
- [15%] UX, has the developer made clear choices to maximise the user experience?
- [5%] Accessiblity, are the contrast values within recommended ranges? Has the devloper made use of semantically meaningful markup?
$50USD contributed by Spasmodic to the winner to purchase web development learning materials
If you are selected as the winner you will be able to discuss with Spasmodic the details of what you would like or you can ask him to nominate something for you.
