and "program files"
The lib/findFiles
part of this add-on is platform specific, and must be tested extensively on every platform
The goal is that it scans through all the video files (mp4, mkv, avi) on the system
should find objects with an imdb id and deliver a stream
For diagnostic purposes
should contain indexing
field with the last error and number of discovered/skipped (already indexed)/indexed
also other stuff if applicable
The Readme says:
Presents a catalog to Stremio containing all the found items, where IMDB-recognized video files are grouped by IMDB ID and torrents are grouped by BitTorrent infohash; non-recognized video files are omitted
But the title of the addon on my machine is:
Local Files (without catalog support)
And there is, in fact, no catalog of my local files in the interface. Why is that? Is there a way to activate catalog support?
there are plenty - ensure all of the important ones are taken care of
Hi,
is it possible to index files on another drive? As I have this git running under c:/my documents and it only searches my c drive. I then tried running it on my f drive but still only indexed my c drive.
currently we use super slow torrents and they time out
so this might require separating the bittorrent stuff out, or just using faster torrents
Some things that might help:
since they will have the same poster as normal imdb id items, we may want to name them differently so that they can be distinct in the stremio UI
e.g. "allo allo (local files)"
If an .nfo file is discovered, treat it's directory root the same way as a .torrent file, and use the .nfo file itself to discover the imdb id
This addon may do a bunch of things that are blocking or absurdly I/O heavy
so in this case, either limit the amount of indexing it can do or simply run it separately
Hi,
I have MKV files under C:\Users\sahin\Videos\Movies
path, and it's indexed as well however, plugin doesn't seem to recognize or locates video files.
Based on the #21 (comment) add-on's simply not working as expected or explained.
Description
Users are missing feature to scan folders manually. Indexing on windows is limited and users who has NAS are not able to watch movies that are stored on these devices. We should add option to add folders that should be scanned that could be added as stremio setting but it is not necessary as i consider it a Power User setting, so they should be able to do it by themselves
bt:
resource for meta, we can just associate srts with the Stream
objectssubtitles
resource which will be handled by this addonIf this add-on is embedded in the streaming server, ensure it can't crash it - so basically ensure the probability of an uncaught exception is low
I'm using stremio on a Macbook Pro Silicon, MacOS 13.1, fresh install of stremio. I get a "Not installed" warning, even though the addon is installed and activated. I can't add a single file to the library, it says added and then nothing happens. And if I switch to another tab, go back to Discover
and click on others, I can't see the Local Files
submenu.
As you can see the addon is downloaded and activated. I've already restarted the app numerous times.
I don't know what other information I can give you. Any help? Thanks :)
When we discover a .torrent
file, we need to send it's trackers (sources) to enginefs
too
Currently there is no way to disable or uninstall this addon.
Please make it opt-out, giving the user a choice. As an example, I have several videos on my local storage that I don't want to be visible on Stremio. It could be porn, it could be private business videos, it could be family related videos, anything.
I did a test and Stremio even scans hidden (+h) folders on the drive for media. This is no good.
Apologies: in reality, it scanned a folder with several .torrent
files on it. This folder is sitting inside my "Documents" folder, and that's what was showing on the "local media" section of Stremio.
A proper storage path should be selected/configured
for unix, this can be done via fs.watch
for mac, there is a mdfind
flag we can use
for windows, god knows
Just installed stremio on ArchLinux via this package
It doesn't find ANY of my files!
for file entries, this is a pretty big problem; we may want to try to probe for the files' existance before delivering result from meta
or stream
for bittorrent entries, this is not an issue, cause as long as we have the infohash
and fileIdx
it will work
we don't have an index for it (imdbid), so currently we either have to iterate or have to add an index
