html_minifier's Issues

quoteCharacter setting appears to have no effect

this is easily reproducible on the console. I am using Rails 4.1.14.2 and html_minifier version 0.0.4

Notice source input defined below uses single quotes

2.1.5 :001 > content = "<div class=''></div>"
 => "<div class=\"\"></div>"
2.1.5 :007 > new_content = HtmlMinifier.minify(content, {quoteCharacter: '\'' })
 => "<div class=\"\"></div>"
2.1.5 :008 > new_content = HtmlMinifier.minify(content, {quoteCharacter: '\"' })
 => "<div class=\"\"></div>"

Same result when the source content has double quotes.

2.1.5 :009 > content = "<div class=\"\"></div>"
 => "<div class=\"\"></div>"
2.1.5 :010 > new_content = HtmlMinifier.minify(content, {quoteCharacter: '\'' })
 => "<div class=\"\"></div>"
2.1.5 :011 > new_content = HtmlMinifier.minify(content, {quoteCharacter: '\"' })
 => "<div class=\"\"></div>"

Expected Result

  • The output respects the pass parameter for quoteChracter

Actual Results

  • The output always outputs double quotes

(Please note in the debugging session about the double quotes are escaped as an artifact of the debugging/inspection. I examined the raw data and it had double quotes that were not escaped with backslashes)
