jnafilechooser's Issues

Manual port of jwcharp

jwcharp created a fork an made some extensions and changes. The changes make a simple pull-request impossible, but I have created a port for the extensions and would create a pull request.

Repaint the underlying window

Hi, and thanks for the cool lib! I noticed that when you drag around the native dialog, the underlying window isn't repainted. Is there anything specific needs to be done to handle that? Perhaps a manual repaint or such?

Multiple File Selection

It would be nice to support selection of multiple files. This is a little tricky to implement since it requires callbacks.

// TODO Here we would use the native windows dialog

Relevant msdn links:

Update to Java 8

I would prefer to update the code to at least Java 8 and would also provide a pull-request for that.

Support for other operating systems

Thanks for creating this! I was always annoyed by the different looking Java implementations of file choosers.
Is there any chance that other operating systems could also be supported?

Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.RuntimeException: GetOpenFileName failed with error 2

Trying out the demos, this is what I get:

Running NativePorcelainDemo and clicking "Choose File" I get:

It's the same for the PlumbingDemo and "Choose file", however there the code shows only the error code: 2

The PortablePorcelainDemo only throws the exception in this circumstance:

  • Enable multiselect : unchecked
  • Selection mode: Files

According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms646916%28v=vs.85%29.aspx the error means CDERR_INITIALIZATION , however I wouldn't know how not enough memory would be available.

Tested this on Windows 7 64bit Pro:

>java -version
java version "1.6.0_26"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.1-b02, mixed mode)

New release

Hi.
We need a new release version to update this dependency correctly.
Could you please create new release version with this dependency update?
Thank you!

New release (v1.1)

Hi!

Since v1.0, multiple improvements and fixes were merged into the master branch. Is it possible to release a new version (v1.1?) with those changes?

Thanks!

Set Initial Directory

Just wondering, is there a way of setting the initial directory when opening the dialog chooser? as it always opens c:/users/ by default. I didn't see any method for it so I was wondering if there is a way to do this. Thank you.
