Actually, the code looks fine.

Remember to add mavenCentral to your gradle file

    repositories {
        // your repositories

        mavenCentral()
    }
}

You can use this file as a reference.

Unfortunately, I can't verify the issue without seeing the code/project. For me the build works just fine.
