gl-react-instagramfilters's Issues

Consuming too much memory

Not really an issue but sometimes my app will crash when I try to load previews for each filter. I've tried shouldRasterizeIOS={true} on the views but that doesn't help. Do you have any suggestions on how to reduce the memory footprint, I'm seeing up to 1.2 GB of memory consumed.

Possibility to apply filters in chunks

Hi @Stoffern !
Thank you for this great repo!

Can you help me? I am trying to understand is it possible to apply such filters on image readable stream in Node.js environment. Do you know how applying filter works in nutshell? Is it possible to apply filter not loading the whole file in memory, but only processing it by chunks?

If this is possible in theory I'll try to do this.

Version 10 of node.js has been released

Version 10 of Node.js (code name Dubnium) has been released! 🎊

To see what happens to your code in Node.js 10, Greenkeeper has created a branch with the following changes:

  • Added the new Node.js version to your .travis.yml

If you’re interested in upgrading this repo to Node.js 10, you can open a PR with these changes. Please note that this issue is just intended as a friendly reminder and the PR as a possible starting point for getting your code running on Node.js 10.

More information on this issue

Greenkeeper has checked the engines key in any package.json file, the .nvmrc file, and the .travis.yml file, if present.

  • engines was only updated if it defined a single version, not a range.
  • .nvmrc was updated to Node.js 10
  • .travis.yml was only changed if there was a root-level node_js that didn’t already include Node.js 10, such as node or lts/*. In this case, the new version was appended to the list. We didn’t touch job or matrix configurations because these tend to be quite specific and complex, and it’s difficult to infer what the intentions were.

For many simpler .travis.yml configurations, this PR should suffice as-is, but depending on what you’re doing it may require additional work or may not be applicable at all. We’re also aware that you may have good reasons to not update to Node.js 10, which is why this was sent as an issue and not a pull request. Feel free to delete it without comment, I’m a humble robot and won’t feel rejected 🤖

Filters do not work well

Hey awesome plugin! Some of these filters aren't working correctly. I get a washed out image or completely black. Also is there a reason you have hard coded urls to the github repo in the filter source files?

Here's what I see:

Images appear only when duplicated

I have a strange issue the filter only works when the same Image is loaded out of surface tag ,else it shows a kinda black(more like maroon) screen.

<Image key="imgmain" source={{ uri: this.state.theimage }}
                            style={{ width: this.state.screenWidth, height: this.state.screenWidth }} resizeMode="contain" />

                        <Surface preload={true} height={this.state.screenWidth} width={this.state.screenWidth}>
                            <Amaro>
                                <Image key="imgAmaro"
                                    source={{uri:this.state.theimage}}
                                    imageSize={{ width: this.state.screenWidth, height: this.state.screenWidth }}
                                    resizeMode="contain"
                                />
                            </Amaro>
                        </Surface>

by this code I have two images; one without filter and the other with filter applied, but as soon as I remove the first image the second image(filtered one) is gone and turns into a black one!

I am getting an Error when i test the example code

simulator screen shot - iphone 8 plus - 2017-10-03 at 13 32 29 This is the error i get. The code i write is from the example

<Surface height={1024} width={693}>
  <Hudson>
    <GLImage
      source="http://i.imgur.com/tCatS2c.jpg"
      imageSize={{ width: 1024, height: 693 }}
      resizeMode="cover"
    />
  </Hudson>
</Surface>

video

Is this package works with video also??

How to export it?

This is cool and all but, how to save an image with an applied filter?

How should we import GLImage and Surface

Hi , I get an error and I think it is because of glImage or surface
how should I import them?

import {Surface} from 'gl-react';
import GLImage from 'gl-react-image';

but gl-react-Image usese version 3 of gl-react ?

I donno I am a bit confused :D
