BookInfo C#

This is a C# version of the Istio example application BookInfo I made to teach myself about Docker and Kubernetes/Istio.

The Architecture

A graph of the system The system is composed of 3 microservices connected by a gateway.

The Details Service

The details service returns information about a book from a given ID. The results are currently in memory and the same for all IDs.

The Reviews Service

The reviews service returns reviews of a book with a given ID. There are 2 versions. V1 just returns the reviews from memory. V2 also talks to the ratings service to get ratings to go with the reviews.

The Ratings Service

The ratings service talks to a MongoDB to get reviews.

The Gateway

The gateway is a graphql api which talk to the details and reviews services. It is the exposed entrypoint to the system.
