I just tried out your game. Good stuff! One thing I noticed is that if you don't input a correct action then the game continues on instead of asking you to try again. Perhaps you can make a function that is given the expected inputs and it will keep asking until you get it right?

You may also want to experiment with adding a game loop. For example the main process loads the stories, then enters the user input loop. From here you can work on reducing the nested ifs which make it hard to read and reason about the code. There are so many ways to design a game like this. Let me know if you want me to look it over and code review/provide guidance :)
