I am awaiting for this repo from long back. When can it be available tentatively ?

Referring to app6 version, in org.s1p.app6.S1pKafkaApplication.TestBean#send method, KafkaTemplate#send(Message<?> message) is used. i.e the message is sent to the default topic configured in KafkaTemplate @ Bean. works fine.

Question: How can I send message to a given non-default topic using KafkaTemplate#send(String topic,Vdata). While trying to use it, I am getting compilation error as provided in attached screenshot.

And, if I try with un-typed KafkaTemplate like:-

public static class TestBean {

        @Autowired
        private KafkaTemplate template;

        @Autowired
        private ConfigProperties config;

        public void send(Message<?> foo) {
            this.template.send(config.getFooTopic(), foo);
        }

    }

I get a runtime error - Exception in thread "main" org.apache.kafka.common.errors.SerializationException: Can't convert value of class org.springframework.messaging.support.GenericMessage to class org.apache.kafka.common.serialization.StringSerializer specified in value.serializer

and the main thread just stays alive

The spring-kafka reference documentation is missing the details on pause/resume.

Also looking for more details on the polling/pause/resume caveat that you talked about in SpringOnePlatform2016.
