directions's Issues

When configuring using my own custom network and geocoder I am unable to route to location.

When I select the geolocation button it zooms to my location but does not route. I receive the following error from console. I'm using AGS Portal 10.3 with my own custom geocoder and network. Should it pass an x,y location if unable to geocode?

Routing Option

Would it be possible to add a feature that would prevent the application from automatically routing to the directions to the nearest location when using the locate me button or an address search? The option could perhaps display the list of possible locations instead?

Social Media

Can you add a sharing option for social media? I am configuring this to show shelters for the public and it would be nice to allow them to share from within the app.

Some troubles trying to find locations due to distance restriction

Problems with route service

I am unable to have the routing function working. . I had to download the app due since we need the app to display travel distances using miles. (default with the online app is kilometers). after setting up the app on our server I am having problems with routing. I am getting
"Route service description was not reached or recognized. Please check service URL and/or user credentials, if specified."

Error message:
"Unable to load ./proxy.php?http://route.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/Route/NAServer/Route_World?f=json status: 404"

Defaults to km?

I'm using your Directions app template inside ArcGIS Online and I can't figure out how to configure it to display miles instead of km inside the directions box. Is there a way to fix this without downloading the code and deploying it on our server? I'm hoping it's something simple that I missed. Here's a screenshot:
km

Issue with Step #5 when deploying app

First off, thanks for creating this.

I created a test environment locally and have been attempting to deploy this app. I set up a template through our organization's AGOL account. I seemed to have gotten though steps up until no. 5 OK. But, using your method of putting the ID in the "webmap" element on line 22 of the default.js file the page would never fully load. So, since I've always heard this ID at the end of the app's URL called the "appid" I pasted it into the "appid" element in this script. Then it worked. Just thought I'd share this.

Additional url parameters.

It would be a very powerful enhancement to make more of the config available through URL parameters, enabling the app to be called from other apps or web sites. A couple of useful capabilities would be to be able to pass in the start location coordinates, as well as a destination feature (layer, field,id) from the webmap.
