tut_05_05.cpp not working properly

Basically, its a ether or image display: the smiley face or the bandana. This is most likely coming from the fragment shader and im pretty sure this line of code is the cause:

if (extraTexture.a != 0.0)

This is from line 96.

I believe that the property doesn't exist because its not being considered RGBA. What I see from my own project is that only 3 is assigned to channel in UCreateTexture. This may differ with different versions.

Typo

There is a typo in the module two tutorial. The word development is misspelled under section 2-2: Creating an OpenGL Application.
