SML2 / 3 level edtior
This editor written in C++ works by extracting the levels from the original ROM, modifying the data, then patching it back into the ROM. This means that you can play it on the original hardware just as if it was the original game.
The eventual plan is to make a complete user made sequel to SML2 (and then maybe also SML3).
Any help is very much appreciated, either by helping develop the editor or by submitting level designs (when the editor is completed).
I notice you haven't yet chosen a license for this. From what I understand, unlicensed code defaults to exclusive rights. In other words, you are the only person who is currently legally allowed to distribute and modify your code. If this was deliberate, you can ignore this issue. If it wasn't, please include a license.
currently only viewing the levels are supported
currently drawing all the sprites runs the sprite rendering code over and over.
currently the data is utilised, but not displayed.
it isn't difficult to add animation, but it is low priority.
as I work on Linux, I haven't built it on windows, but while making it I did consider Windows while choosing the GUI (wxFormBuilder). So it should be very simple to import and build.
