If they are nodes, it is clear what goes into a recipe and what comes out.
Recipes are not really nodes, so in the "BOM" of factorio there are no recipes.

What do you think?

Ideally we would want to have the factorio icons, but ... baby steps

Where did you find this recipe file? It has a pretty crazy format. At first I thought it was JSON, but the keys and values are quoted. Then I thought it was Hjson, but lists ands dictionaries both use curly brackets {}. You did a lot of work to parse it. Only 1-3 lines should be needed if it were a standard format.

the current graph looks like it is in portrait mode.
We could layout it top-down and have the graph canvas take more horizontal space.
