That would fundamentally change the character of Shiromino. It is furthermore the case that "World Rule" is very unpopular in this community. From a gameplay perspective, it would trivialize G1/G2. On the other hand, G1/G2 rules in G3 would be too difficult. It might be interesting if we had thousands of G3 grandmasters who were looking for a twist on this mode, but reality is much different, i.e. there are just 3 Western grandmasters, so why bother making a game mode that is clearly far too difficult even more difficult?

What is your motivation behind this request? In my opinion, Shiromino fills a gap as it's an easily accessible clone with the ARS rule set. On the other hand, there is no shortage of those games following guideline/World rules. There's even a free official you can play in your browser. So why put that stuff into Shiromino?

If there's no SRS, OK then.
I was thinking of using G3 rule for G1 / G2 modes, but "Why not add SRS? as these are also available on Ti."

Well, SRS was forced into Ti.

Oh, Sorry about that. Maybe G3 rule on G1 / G2 modes only(for practicing)?

How familiar are you with those games? (This is a serious question. I'm not trying to belittle you.) The issue is that you can't just mix and match those rules. G1/2/3 play fundamentally differently. If you practiced G1 with G3 rules, you'd pick up bad habits as stacking is a lot easier if you have multiple previews, a hold piece, increased piece mobility, and a much fairer randomizer.

If practicing G1 is your goal then spend more time playing at 20G speed. Once you can reliably survive 500 levels at that speed, you should be able to clear G1. Once you've achieved that, you can look into playing faster or improving your stacking.

I'm not familiar with the seperate game systems…
I just thought some speeds in G2 / G3 are similar to each other (G2-Death 500 ≈ G3-Terror 300-500) etc…

Your suggestion may be relevant for issue #23.

Well, Yes. Except now the Ruleset Customize are open(at least I think).

All G* modes attempt to stay true to the original formula, so neither G1 nor G2 will likely receive the option to play with SRS.

@gregorulm is right about SRS being forced into Ti. It had to get implemented in order to meet TTC's wonky guidelines, or else the game couldn't have been released.

That being said, while I think that things like quantum mechanics feel more reasonable than the logic behind SRS, it's still part of the scene unfortunately, so @ads5881473 does have a point. Currently, there's a split of three major factions (Guideline and NES being the other two), and it'd be cool to have a game that unifies all of them. Given that, I think we should allow custom modes (#23) to specify the rule set.

Nevertheless, ARS will always be the default in shiromino, since that's what I think @FelicityVi was originally going for, and it arguably makes the most sense.

There's loads of other issues (like #6 or #25) that we must focus on first before we can get any new stuff into the game, so right now, this is a low-priority issue.

I was originally start from Ti-World in TGM / Tetris series, and originally I have no idea that was forced into Ti. Thanks for the explanation. I've been diving into ARS as well recently.
