GOAL

To create the frontend framework for pgweb using Bootstrap v4 and prepare for the components that will be designed by the designer. Once the components are ready, finalize the framework so it is relatively simple to build out the pages.

• Add Bootstrap v4 to the repository
• Set up CSS files that will contain only the necessary overrides from Bootstrap v4
• Learn what the fonts / components will be in the new design and ensure they are set following Bootstrap v4 conventions

GOAL

We would like to get updated designs for the following pages. We want to ensure we can incorporate these designs to utilize the Bootstrap v4 framework

• General site structure & navigation
• General components, such as:
  • Side bars
  • URLs
  • Tables
  • Buttons
  • Form fields
• Homepage
• Downloads
• General informational page

Ensure pages are responsive. Desktop should be full featured. Mobile should make it easy to do research, but may not be able to utilize all features (e.g. download).

TASKS

• Identify designer for redesigns
• Create timeline for having designs done
• Send penultimate draft to PGWEB team for review
• Incorporate feedback and send to designer
• Repeat previous two steps until eventual consistency is reached

GOALS

Build template to be used for the generic pages (e.g. About, User Groups etc.). The template can be further adapted to utilize all of the components, so it will be easy to construct all of the other pages.

This will unblock most of the work on the redesign.

TASKS

• Implement design of generic page
  • Create it as a draft and utilize all components
  • Ensure navigation is incorporated into it

This is just a test

Implement the homepage for postgresql.org based on the design.

• Almost certainly will contain custom elements outside of the generic page template
