We'd like you to supplement your Fundamentals learning with the following resources on web development workflow, CSS, and JavaScript. The readings and exercises in this section are REQUIRED, and we expect them to take about two hours to complete.
- Read this article: Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me When I Was Learning How to Code
- Read through (and bookmark!) the following guides for keyboard shortcuts, terminal commands, and Sublime Text 3. Getting faster at navigating your computer and your text editor will help you be a more efficient and powerful developer.
- You'll be using GitHub daily in WDI and in your web development career for collaboration and version control. Master the basics with the Try Git tutorial.
- Read the following articles on CSS. Sharpening your CSS skills will give you the tools you need to create visually compelling projects.
- Read through Codecademy's JavaScript Glossary. For more in-depth JavaScript practice, see the JavaScript section under "Extra Practice".
The following resources and tutorials are optional, but we highly recommend you try at least 2-3 of them, based on the topics you feel you need more practice.

- Watch the “Web Development Best Practices” talk by Laurie Voss, CTO of NPM. This talk is geared towards recent bootcamp graduates, but the tips are helpful for any level of learning.

- Check out these innovative examples of Javascript and start thinking about projects you want to make.
