Official SERG-Delft template master thesis

This repository hosts the source code of the official LateX template for a master thesis at SERG-Delft. The latest release can be downloaded as a ZIP from the GitHub relases page.

We recommend you read and follow suggestions from the LaTeX advice guide.

Build instructions

If you would like to build this project on your local machine, ensure that texlive-full is installed. You can follow the instructions on https://www.tug.org/texlive/quickinstall.html but the TLDR for Debian-based systems is:

sudo apt-get install texlive-full
sudo apt-get install latexmk

Then run make and the project should build.

Import for ShareLatex

If you would like to import this template into ShareLatex, perform the following steps:

1. Click the green "Clone or download"-button in the top-right corner of https://github.com/SERG-Delft/thesis-template
2. Click "Download ZIP"
3. Log in on https://www.sharelatex.com
4. Click "New Project" in the top-left corner of https://www.sharelatex.com/project
5. Click "Upload Project"
6. Click "Select a .zip file"
7. Select the ZIP you just downloaded

⚠️ Important! ⚠️

ShareLatex does not parse the *.ps files in img/. These files should therefore be manually uploaded to the ShareLatex project to have a non-erroring build.

thesis-template's Issues

Adding multiple committee members

It seems I am not able to add multiple committee members (for on the abstract page), using the \committeemember command, to be added besides the chair and university supervisor. It only renders the last one I define in the PDF. Is there a way to add multiple extra committee members?

Move source files to root directory

Currently, the source files reside in thesis-style while the generated zip resides in the root folder. However, GitHub allows "Download as zip" (right next to the clone URL). By moving the source files to the root directory, this "Download as zip" will be effectively the same as the binary zip file currently being uploaded. Lastly, the previous distributions can be available as GitHub release (which also supports adding files to a release).

All in all, it should no longer be necessary to have binary files in this repository and is clearer what the latest version of the thesis template is.
