Translating SecureFolderFS

Feature: Don't initialize empty files

Currently, creating new files (like .txt documents) will initialize them with file header metadata (even if there are no contents in the decrypted file).

To save space, don't initialize new files with metadata until they're written to.

Add an alternative file name encryption

As discussed on Discord I already have issues with file name encryption since some vault files are not being backup in my NAS.

I suggest two possible solutions, that could be offered as alternative to the actual system to the user.

First is to add the name encryption to ADS, which you already said could make issues with Cloud Storage.
So, the second is to generate a file where to place the name equivalences. So in that file SecureFolderFS will see that "01.sffs = asdfalkfdjjafjoda81821283".

As you can see, on the left is my vault in my local drive, and on the right the same vault in the NAS backup, but without a lot of files.

Batch files / Elevated privileges don't work with file name encryption enabled

While placing a bat file inside a vault. it won't work on W10. I tested double clicking it and from cmd and Windows Terminal, but none of this options seems to work.

Also installers that require admin privileges seems to not work neither.

Add an executable for opening the vault using file explorer

Hi, I think it would be very helpful that the vault itself have an executable that when you open it it will automatically gets open with SecureFolderFS, so there you can control the vault.

The use for this is for vaults that you don't want to keep on the program sidebar, so you have an easy option to add them without everytime manually adding to the program and then closing and removing from the list items.

So, if you click on this file:

the vault will automatically gets open with SecureFolderFS, and there you can unlock it as usual.

Text files are extended

The end of text file is always filled with NUL characters

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a text file and write "test"
2. Opening the file in Notepad++ will show NUL characters at the end

Feature: Add the option to change vault names

Changing the vault's name from the app would be very useful. There are two possible options in my opinion:

• Change the folder name where the SecureFolderFS configuration files are stored from the UI.
• Add a title option in the configuration without changing the folder name.
