Datamations is a framework for the automatic generation of explanation of the steps of an analysis pipeline. It automatically turns code into animations, showing the state of the data at each step of an analysis.

datamations's Issues

Shift step titles to function arguments

Can we move allow titles that accompany each step to be passed as optional function arguments (e.g., "Each dot shows ...")?

Add text annotations to tibble-style?

How much work would it be to add the column headers, group annotations, and cell values as text to generic calls for tibble-style datamations?

Test with alternative dataset

Maybe iris or mtcars?

Rename repo to match package?

Or vice-versa — having one name to remember is easy than two.

Add tidyverse string parsing to sanddance style datamations

So that something like this is possible:

pipeline <- "small_salary_data %>% group_by(Degree)"
dmpkg::datamation_sanddance(pipeline, output = "salary_group_degree.gif")

This would be great if easy, but I would file under a nice-to-have instead of absolutely necessary.

Embed the GIFs in the readme

It would be nice to see some live, pre-rendered examples of the gifs.
