gitterbot's Issues

Tracking issue - Updating from githubteacher/gitterbot

githubteacher/gitterbot is currently functional. This issue tracks the steps to get this repository functional and ready to work with for run-throughs, brown bags, or workshop sessions.

  • Update with code from githubteacher/gitterbot master branch
  • Put outline from services repository into readme
  • Contact dcscan or berkeleytrue for 👀
    • Review/feedback
    • Attribution
  • Contact madlittlemods about support from Gitter on day of workshop (May 23rd, London) and possibly brownbag (April 13th, 11am PST)

Backup Bot tracking issue

In the event that the Bot gets banned, it would be a good backup. The plan now is to open an issue in Gitter's repo, but this would be an instant backup that we'd have more control over.

To set this up, we need to:

  • Create another bot account, githubstudent
  • Have the bot join the chat room
  • Create a separate .env setup
  • Test
